Role Overview

A well-established and privated owned business within the motor trade sector are actively looking for a dynamic Accounts Assistant to join their growing business, based from their Hull site.

Working within the centralised accounts department, you will play an integral part of the accounts function, working independently using your own initiative and also as part of an experienced team. Providing an efficient accounts function to support centre, colleagues and departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily banking & reconciliation, including postings.
Purchase invoice coding, input and supplier statement reconciliation.
Raise cheques and post out relevant information in an accurate and prompt manner.
Check vehicle debtors and goodwill ensuring explanations and payments are recorded correctly.
Monitor, chase debts/debtors including sending out of debt letters inline with company procedures ensuring an efficient practise for monitoring and processing payments.
Ensure petty cash systems, bridge tolls and balance sheet reconciliations are carried out promptly and are correct.
Draw up stationery orders.
Undertake stock take as and when required reporting abnormalities.
General duties to include GIS reconciliation to invoice, warranty credits reconciliation, assisting with WIP and Cap reporting.
Undertake service plan maintenance/reconciliation/reports with in-house systems.
Provide basic support for payroll submission – fuel charges are reconciled and processed correctly.
Provide cover for team leader duties - attendance reporting daily.
Control centre holiday spreadsheet input and ensure it is correct & up to date.
Provide support to the sales administration function.
Provide support to the Group Accountant/Team Leader/centre undertaking analysis duties such as vehicle variances, aftersales analysis, auction charges, CRS surveys etc.

Personal Specifications:

AAT level 2 or equivalent experience at a minimum.
Sales and Purchase Ledger experience.
Good standard of education with a qualification in Maths and English.
Previous administration experience.
Previous experience of working in a fast moving environment.
Excellent IT skills including various packages including Excel.
Excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills.
Excellent customer service/people skills.
Polite, calm and approachable persona.
Must be a team player with a flexible ‘can do’ approach.
Must hold a full drivers license.
