THE ROLE

We have a requirement for a talented Finance Analyst to the finance team based in the Birmingham office.

JOB PURPOSE

The Finance Analyst role will play a key support role to the Finance team in preparation and execution of financial close activities, including reporting and ad hoc analysis.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Assist in the timely and accurate month end preparation and close process
Ensure accounting systems are updated correctly
Support the branch operational teams and finance Shared Service teams as and when required
Prepare monthly & quarterly reports

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Journal preparation
Accruals & Prepayments
Project Accounting batches
Invoice coding
Purchase Orders
Stock monitoring
P&L analysis
Resolution of queries
Holiday cover for other finance staff
FP&A Support
Ad-hoc reporting analysis & Administration

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Immediate finance team
Finance shared services
Operational team and wider finance team as is relevant

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Basic Accounting Knowledge
Studying towards an accounting qualification preferable

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

‘Can-do’ attitude with willingness to 'roll sleeves up' as and when required
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Good systems/Microsoft Office/Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
Time management & organisational skills
