ROLE OVERVIEW

As Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing access solutions for installations within the Mechanical Access division, as well as compiling the relevant technical information and design drawings for clients to review and installers to work to.

This is a varied role which includes design, as well as liaising with the commercial and operational team to ensure they deliver the best and most efficient solutions for their customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Engaging with customers to understand their specific requirements.
Developing practical and cost-effective solutions for a variety of clients on a wide range of projects.
Preparing detailed proposals in line with quotations.
Part of the team managing technical elements from enquiry through to completion.
Producing 2D and 3D CAD models for customer approval, pricing, and manufacture.
Liaison with relevant mechanical access departments on both product design and methods/requirements of manufacture.

KEY SKILLS

Qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Understanding of temporary works design.
Demonstrable experience of 3D modelling using either AutoCAD or Revit.
Able to create and read 2D technical drawings using common drawing practices and conventions.
Strong attention to detail.
Able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
Confident to engage in a technical dialogue with customers, manufacturers, and suppliers.
Strong computer literacy including Word, Excel, Outlook.
Strong communication skills and team working.
Demonstrable experience coordinating projects, comfortable working on multiple projects.
Attending projects to carryout technical surveys.
