THE COMPANY

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Credit Controller is responsible for managing the debts of a business, working closely with the other Credit Controller to ensure timely receipt of cash and minimisation of bad debt risk.

HYBRID WORKING POLICY

Monday - work from home or the Head Office in Grimsby (optional) - 8.30am to 5pm.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - work from the Head Office - 8.30am to 5pm.
Friday - work form home with an early finish - 8.30am to 4pm.

CREDIT CONTROL

Ensure customers with credit accounts are kept within the agreed credit limit; chasing debt and sending final demands and reviewing order approvals where accounts are on stop.
Proactively identify and recommend accounts which should have increased or reduced credit limits.
Apply for credit terms for customers.
Allocation of cash and invoices on Sage/Aqilla.
Ensure accounts are put on/off stop as necessary in a timely manner.

CREDIT INSURANCE

To ensure that the Company follows absolutely all terms and conditions of the credit insurance policy.
To proactively work with the credit insurance broker and supplier to maximise the customers and sales invoices that are insured.
To accurately record the invoices that are insured and flag any reportable debt to the insurers accordingly.

REPORTING

Inform stakeholders of those debts that require immediate attention.
Attendance and action taking at regular debtor reviews. Follow up of actions.
Ensure accurate month end ledger report is produced.

CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION

Distribution of account statements to customers.
Prime contact point with all customers regarding financial position of the account.
Writing/calling customers with specific actions, reminders and questions.
Obtaining payment plans from customers with significantly overdue debt position drafting and distributing professional customer communication with little supervision.

ADMINISTRATION

Regular review of customer claims in Freshdesk and recording impact on ledger.
Ensure all processes clearly documented.

SKILLS REQUIRED

International credit control experience preferable.
Credit insurance experience.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and numeracy skills.
Highly organised and methodical.
A realistic approach to the world of finance.
The ability to adhere to strict deadlines, work under pressure and negotiate.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Have outstanding attention to detail with an ability to reconcile complex accounts.
Accurate, efficient and organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as needed and have knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office and accountancy software.
Be professional, confident and diplomatic when liaising with others.
