PRODUCTS & SOLUTIONS
Manufacture, configure, and install an unmatched selection of fire suppression systems from their broad portfolio of brands to meet specific customer needs globally. This includes Sprinklers, Valves, Extinguishers and Agents, and Special Hazards Systems alongside other related components and fittings.
JOB PURPOSE
As a post order Design Engineer, you will be responsible for all Fire Suppression design elements in supporting the business on large and complex projects. You will drive the detailed design and estimate specifications in line with company policies, relevant British, European, and international Standards. Post order support for PM’s / FLM’s where required to value-engineer solutions further once orders have been received to assist in maintaining and/or improving project margins.
Where required design changes and additions to fill variation orders on works in hand with the operational teams. Ability to have an objective and proactive approach in reviewing detailed designs to provide value engineered solutions where required and to produce fully detailed specifications and technical submittals with complete detailed schematics & drawings to meet with design criteria.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understanding of the customers and customer contacts within business.
- Daily liaison with the client and customer both internal and external.
- Ensuring design schedule is met for approval, fabrication & construction, collaborating closely with sales & contract manager with onsite specifications, installation & bracketing Completing Design Risk Assessments.
- Ensure design variations and systems are captured and are commercially effective that meet the customer’s specification and standard requirements.

- You will work closely with your new business colleagues to ensure a smooth handover of the project from sales through design and completion with all design work required.
KEY REQUIREMENTS (ESSENTIAL)
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Fully conversant with LPC Rules incorporating BS EN 12845, NFPA and FM Global standards for all hazard classifications from conceptual design through to project completion.
- Ability to develop and manage relationships with internal and external customers to drive customer satisfaction
- Ability to function independently while also using resources and engage with operational departments
- Knowledge and understand of the business-to-business sales lifecycle from start to finish
- Ability to craft fully detailed specifications, technical submittals, training materials and operational manuals to meet with design and standard criteria.
- Responsibility for checking and highlighting design changes with any cost implications.

- Support Project Managers and FLM’s with consultancy or design issues.
PREFERRED
- Further or higher education qualification in Engineering
- Current experience in a similar role
