Grow sales and profit within the specified region by developing sales within the company’s existing customers and bringing new customers into the business. The company’s customers will typically be supermarket retailers or distributors and will require empathy, commercial acumen, and retail understanding from the IBE.
• Plan and develop strategies for new business development for markets and specific potential customers
• Respond to and follow-up on sales leads received or generated, with the aim of converting leads to customers and accumulating market and company data
• Ensure correct information on sales leads is held in internal computer systems
• Develop personal relationships with key personnel in potential future customers
• Conducting in-house market research into new or existing markets and identify new potential customers via both “desk” and “in-market” research
• Developing effective sales presentations for potential customers and other relevant bodies
• Screening, gaining knowledge of and selling by telephone to sales leads in existing database
• Annually prepare budgets for sales and profitability of new business development
• Monitor monthly and quarterly performance of new business development against budget and address divergence
• Provide reports and analysis of new business opportunities and development as required
• Act as point of contact with customers for every aspect of their commercial relationship with Ramsden International
• Plan and develop specific sales and account management strategies for each customer, and each market, and ensure these are recorded and reported
• Implement sales and account management strategies with customers aimed at maximising growth, profitability, customer service and retention
• Prepare annually monthly sales and profitability budgets for each customer
• Monitor monthly and quarterly performance against budgets closely and address divergences
• Build and maintain strong personal relationships with key personnel in customer’s organisations
• Build and maintain strong knowledge about our customer’s businesses, markets and consumers
• Ensure customers receive all relevant marketing material, samples and other information required to maximise commercial opportunities
• Provide internal reports on customers and market developments where required
• Visit customers in their markets, and make necessary travel arrangements
• Negotiate trading terms, discounts and service levels with customers, and to review these periodically
• Accumulate knowledge of best-selling and new products to enable high quality range advice to be given to customers
• Monitor any developments in customer’s markets which may affect our business
• Develop awareness of legislative, operational, logistical or administrative issues regarding exports to customer’s markets
• Ensure the delivery of high levels of customer service to customers
• Maintain accounts within credit limits and payment terms, taking proactive action when defaults occur
• Maintain correct information on all orders and customers in relevant internal systems
• Ensure colleagues are properly briefed on all necessary aspects of your customer requirements
• Any other duties as required by the company
