Job Purpose:
To support Materials and Production Planning with data driven, accurate information to support effective manufacturing and supply chain decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
Revision of forecast information to support optimisation of inventory and availability in line with production schedules.
Review and communicate any known material shortages to production and materials planning at the earliest convenience to allow re-planning where possible.
Performance analysis of suppliers.
Identification of supply gaps or excess stock to Supply Chain Manager.
Revision of accuracy of short and long term forecasting.
Implementation of Sales & Operations Planning functionality and processes.
Support New Product Development process of introducing new materials ensuring minimised obsolescence on exit materials.
Ensure analysis supported proposals to effect clear decision making are shared across supply chain and the business.
Actively participate in Supply Chain related projects.
2nd tier support to Production Planner to enable seamless cover of role.
2nd tier support to Materials Planner to enable seamless cover of role.
Development of KPI dashboard published weekly to Supply Chain Manager and Head of Department with clear, concise recommendations for action.
Key Skills & Experience:
At least 3 years previous analytical experience within a manufacturing environment.
Experience with forecasting and planning tools and processes.
To be able to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of business.
ERP and MRP system experience.
Ability to drive process improvement.
Effective planning and organisation skills.
Computer Literate, with experience of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to embrace change and support development of new ways of working and systems.
