Quality Support Co-ordinator (FMCG)

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality strategy deployment.
• Ensuring Quality & Food Safety standards, processes, activities and working tasks have clear definitions and purpose which can be communicated, trained out, maintained and enforced across all departments and areas of the business.
• Demonstration of both organisational and Continuous Improvement skills to help with the investigations into reported quality issues (internal & external) and be able to relate these back to the relevant areas of the business encouraging full Root Cause Analysis to aid non-conformance reduction.
• Management of the Corrective and Preventative Action process, helping to identify and implement Best Practices.
• To liaise and communicate with external customers, managing expectations and minimising the impact of quality related issues whilst ensuring all quality investigations are reported back to the customer effectively, professionally and within agreed timelines.
• Helping to ensure that the site is audit ready to meet the challenges of compliance to external standards; BRC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & FDA/IMS and their related Quality Management Systems.
• Carry out internal audits, supporting the Quality &Food Safety Manager to keep the Internal Audit Schedule fully updated, ensuring that any Non-Conformances are relayed back to the relevant responsible persons within the business for corrective action and to follow up on these actions accordingly to enable close out.
• Managing and controlling internal specifications to ensure that the products meet the intended customer requirements.
• Helping to maintain the input and output of the Quality reporting systems; Complaints’, Internal NCR’s, Quarantine, and Sample Retention databases, DMS Tier reports, Quality & Compliance KPI reports & GEMBA Walks.
• Engagement with Continuous Improvement activities; Involvement with Technical and Operational teams to achieve successful projects.

Personal Specification:

• Knowledge and Experience: Ideally 3+ years in a Quality Related Field with practical experience utilising Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools such as RCA, A3, 5 Why, DMAIC, PDSA, Pareto Analysis etc.
• A good working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and expectations with experience of BRC, ISO standards, and HACCP.
• A leader who can help to drive the Quality strategy whilst recognising that the ownership of quality belongs to the relevant business teams. Comfortable in holding to account these “owners” whilst ensuring that the influencing relationship is maintained
• An effective and skilled communicator at all levels of the business including to Senior Site Management Teams as well as to Customers.
• Ability to work and influence cross-functionally, up and down the organisation and able to demonstrate business awareness and commercial acumen.
• Can manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Have a good level of understanding in Microsoft Office packages.
