ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting into the International Supply Chain Director, we require a highly experienced Supply Chain Manager focussing on Indirect Category Procurement.

Please note: the role can be office based (we can find a space at any local UK office), home office based or a hybrid combination of both dependant on personal preference.

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for sourcing, purchasing and managing spend in relation ‘Indirect’ Goods to support the International businesses. Delivery will be through the implementation of best procurement practice and processes to deliver quality and best value for money. Key aspects will be to drive down costs and make significant savings through continuously improving supplier identification, negotiations and process control. This requirement is to ensure alignment, where possible on Category Spend throughout the different business units to harness economies of scale, without negatively impacting operational activities of the business unit(s). Compliance and adherence to ensure maximum cost out for Capex Spend activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Delivery of accurate market and supplier analysis reports
Accountability for the communication of Procurement activities across the businesses
Preparing clear summaries on saving opportunities, progress reporting and compliance through reports and/or presentations
Develop and maintain savings and improvement tracking and monitoring capabilities
Procurement objectives in respect of savings, rebates, discounts, supplier price reductions, payment days, favourable contract terms
Provide functional expertise for local application and answer queries from both internal and external customers regarding supply, price and quality
Management and maintenance of supplier relationships, ownership of tendering and implementation of new suppliers and products, monitor service levels of existing and new suppliers
Manage and direct cross departmental teams during all parts of the tender process for major categories
Manage the implementation and or change to new suppliers and products while minimising the disruption to the business
To work with Finance and AP to reduce the invoices on hold when required
Write accurate and professional requests for quotations and proposals if required
Gather data (internal & external) for supporting business decisions and development of products and services

KEY RESULT AREAS

Excellent relationship management and communication skills are required to ensure you have the necessary ability to be a trusted adviser to the senior business stakeholders
The ability to strategise and establish longer range plans, assessing opportunities and leveraging market developments/industry best practices to drive efficiencies and global cost savings
Proven experience leading large and high value contract and service level agreement (SLA) negotiations, ensuring clear accountabilities, timelines and deliverables are established
Able to research market knowledge of Category and evidence of utilising that knowledge to make changes to procurement plans and business decisions
Strong team working skills, and ability to operate across teams, cultural and organisational boundaries
Demonstrable understanding of financial management principles and other quantitative information to ensure procurement outcomes are both financially and qualitatively sound
Encourage Supplier management and consolidation reduction where possible
Provide identification of New Market / Low Cost Country sourcing of new Suppliers

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of construction or manufacturing industry
Knowledge of both Opex and Capex Spend
CIPS or Equivalent level qualification desirable
Extensive Procurement / SCM background and/or relevant experience at an Operational level
Strong Negotiation & Influencing skills
Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
