JOB PURPOSE

To provide professional advice, assistance and support to the UK Oil/Gas and Renewables business on all Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality issues in order to meet the UK’s moral, legal and corporate obligations.
To raise the profile of SHEQ within our organisation and that of our clients, and to champion SHEQ initiatives that will consequently enhance the reputation of the UK as being an organisation that cares for its people and in which others have the confidence to engage.
To help minimise and ideally eliminate all safety, health and environmental incidents, ensuring a professional level of service quality is provided to the UK regional clients.

SITE LOCATIONS

Sites are based in/around the Humber Region, Teeside, Cheshire and Midlands to name a few.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Advise the UK regional management of relevant changes to legislation and Approved Codes of Practice (ACOP’s) and actions required to implement changes.
Make regular visits to sites and branches to inspect, advise, provide solutions to problems and audit in order to ascertain compliance with the safety, health and environment management system.
Champion UK’s safety, health and environment management system and safe working practices to customers to help support sales bids and to develop effective working relationships.
Participate in all SHEQ initiatives including assisting with tasks to assist the sites to meet their KPI’s.
Provide assistance to ensure requests regarding Site and Regional Office initiatives and requests for information are completed on time.
Support the business to work towards attaining IMS certification.
Gather and exchange information with colleagues, enforcing agencies and customers in order to keep abreast of legislation and progressive methods of achieving and maintaining safe working practices such as NASC, CHSG, ECIA.
Compile and correlate information to write reports and/or direct training focus.
Assist the teams with delivery of Toolbox Talks, Safety Briefs etc.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Advise and help all UK regional colleagues on the promotion of health, safety and wellbeing at work for the benefit of all.
Keep abreast of changes in safety, health and environmental legislation, advising management on how to adhere to safe working practices and on how to keep the UK regions compliant to safety, health and environmental law.
Monitor adherence to corporate and statutory safe working practices and advise on the implementation of remedial actions as appropriate.
Help to promote the UK regions as being professionally competent to deliver both safe service and safe products to boot business acquisition and retention.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Working knowledge of safety, health and environmental legislation relevant to UK businesses and work activities.
NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (minimum requirement).
Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or working towards this qualification.
Experience working within the Oil & Gas, Industrial Services and/or Renewables sector.
Knowledge of scaffolding systems would be advantageous.
Flexibility and willingness to travel to sites as and when required.
