Warehouse Manager

Role Overview:

Main Purpose:

• Responsible and accountable for ensuring the efficient management and control of the warehouse operation.
• Provide an effective, reliable service to customers both internal and external whilst acting in accordance with any legislative requirements and company policy.
• P&L responsibility for ensuring budgets are met and costs controlled.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Operational Management and Supervisors to plan and prioritise work; identify any existing or potential problems and agree how they should be resolved.
• Planning, co-ordinating and monitoring the receiving, storage, and dispatch of customer’s goods.
• Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation and traceability requirements.
• Ensure the setup, layout and space utilisation is efficient. Initiate, co-ordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
• Reduce costs, improve efficiency & and enhance wellbeing by looking for and recommending any new methods of working.
• Develop a highly motivated team of Supervisors by encouragement and promotion of open communication and holding regular briefing sessions.
• Liaise with customers internal and external, suppliers and transport companies to ensure the highest level of service.
• Monitor damage claims and develop methods of work which reduce mistakes, keeping damage and costs to a minimum.
• Build strong relationships with customers as their main point of contact.
• Communicate regularly with them and resolve any issues in good time.
