We are excited to introduce Jack Gifford, joining us an Associate Consultant, at our Lincolnshire based Head Office.
Born and bread in Lincolnshire, Jack comes from a background within the Shipping sector, where at the age of 18 he made the move to London to pursue a career in broking. Gaining valuable experience in the CPP / DPP tanker markets whilst working in the City for firms such as Portland Maritime and Simpson, Spence & Young.
Next Stop Scotland
Jack then moved North to Scotland to work as a Ship’s Agent, following in his father’s footsteps at Graypen Ltd. This entailed all aspects of agency from boarding VLCC tankers (on occasion staying on board during STS transfers) and dry cargo vessels at numerous ports across the country, to husbandry, customs and working from remote offices on the operational duties.
Back To His Grassroots
Moving back to Lincolnshire, Jack joined Eimskip as an Export Logistics Coordinator where he organised shipments to Iceland, Canada and the USA.
Shipping, Logistics & Recruitment
Jack is focussed on success in this new chapter of his career and will be looking to use his vast shipping / logistics experience to his advantage in recruitment as well as immersing himself in all other areas of the business. Using his strong, adaptable and personable character Jack aims to develop lasting relationships, exciting candidate-client partnerships and make many friends with whom to share a gin with in the process.
What Keeps Jack Ticking?
Away from work Jack has a keen interest in fashion, keeping fit and experimenting with cooking which is a big passion.
At a weekend Jack enjoys (loosely put) his football by watching Grimsby Town on a Saturday afternoon, catching up with family and friends over some social drinks on an evening, followed by Sunday (somewhat hazy) dog walks with his best mate Mateo his French bulldog pup.
